History
The Homeless Advocacy Coalition opened the Albuquerque Opportunity Center (AOC) in April 2004. In November 2004, management of the AOC was transferred to the Metropolitan Homelessness Project and thus began the AOC’s service to homeless men in Albuquerque.
The Albuquerque Opportunity Center completed its first full year of operation in 2005 and earned a reputation for providing high-quality, safe, emergency shelter. The agency expanded its capacity for emergency shelter from 54 to 71 beds. Every night the Center maintained an occupancy rate above 90%
